I have a very good friend, who, when you text or email her asking for prayer, will immediately send a prayer back to you. I remember when my niece died and I sent her an email asking for prayer. She immediately responded with the most heart-felt, sincere, touching prayer. What a blessing to me to have a friend like this.
Just last week a good friend of mine asked a prayer warrior friend that she calls on to pray for my family. I don’t know the lady but my friend knows how important prayer is to me and passed along my prayer needs to her friend.
Her friend immediately responded, “I sure will pray for them. I will start now and ask God to give wisdom. As the word of God says, in the last days, family will turn against family. But the devil is a liar and he is the father of all lies and I will be praying for her family. God is a big God and he can do all things through Christ who will give this family strength in the name of Jesus.”
How touching and amazing that this lady, who doesn’t even know me, incorporated into her prayer my very favorite Bible verse (Philippians 4:13), the verse that has comforted me for all of life and that I say over and over to myself in times of struggles. God is good.
The most wonderful thing about prayer is the comfort it gives you. Your prayers may not always be answered in the way you want which is why my constant prayer is for strength to handle whatever comes. The most important reasons prayer is important are the comfort and strength you get from them.
If someone asks you to pray for them, make it a point to do so. You will get a blessing from doing so.
