JEFFERSON – Barbara Alice Guthrie, 71, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010.

Born on August 7, 1939, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Bessie Woorley Woodall. She was a secretary for 29 years with Otis Elevator and served as the secretary of Maysville Baptist Church where she was a member. Mrs. Guthrie was preceded in death by a brother, Van Woodall.

Survivors include her husband, William H. Guthrie, Jefferson; sisters, Mary Ann Turner, Nicholson, and Bobbie Dorsey, Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Herb Snedden officiating. Burial will be in the Evans Memory Gardens. The visitation will be held Wednesday, November 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
