The Banks County Board of Commissioners approved a settlement in a pending litigation case during a called meeting Friday morning.
The BOC met in closed session during the called meeting on Friday to discuss the possible litigation by John Seigler of JTS Trucking Inc. The commissioners met for 15 minutes in closed session with Randall Frost, the county attorney.
When the meeting was reopened to the public, Frost recommended that the BOC grant him the power to sign off on the consent order and the BOC to issue the permit for a conditional use to Seigler and JTS Trucking Inc. to operate with the following conditions:
OK, OK we get it your not happy about HAVING to give the permit.
"BOC to issue the permit for a conditional use" my foot. I hope like @!#! Randall Frost said
" HELLO boys,,,,,THIS IS AMERICA & WE CAN NOT TREAT HIM ANY DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER BUSINESS IN THE COUNTY. All of this because he wanted NOT N to rezone BUT,,,, RENEW his business license to PARK his trucks. Pass that note along to Keith Covington . And to require a
six foot tall privacy fence to be installed would be A SUPER GREAT IDEA for Charles Turk & Family. That would save a few buck for the county on the 5-10 911 calls listed in the paper every week for livestock in the road way on Carson-Segars Rd. How much does it cost EACH TIME to send out Deputy's , Rescue & Fire trucks to look after your cows ?!?!?!
About him needing to put up a six foot fence to keep his cows in. If he would feed them they might not tear the fence down. Have you seen how poor his are? No grass in pasture and he feeds them Chicken Litter and corn. I know the Sheriff dept is getting tired of helping him round up cows.Maybe he could get some of the volunteers to help him since he encouraged them to go on strike.
As it relates to this case about the trucking company I think because of the ligation the Banks County attorney finally decided they better cut their loss by settling the lawsuit because if this went to court it was going to cost the county so much money because Mr. Zeigler was going to win the case and I'm sure a large amount of money.
If Mr Turk and some of our elected officials keep this up, it will not be long before we see more businesses leave the county.
I try to be supportive of our BOC, but when they are against local businesses that support all of our county tax base it is hard. Thanks to Barefoot and Cain for supporting local businesses to keep our taxes down.
Hopefully the new lawsuit filed will remove both Turk and Rogers and we'll have another chance for someone else. Everyone knows the only reason Turk went into office is to get the Quiters rehired...umm know who I'm talking about? The "volunteer" firefighters who turned their backs on every citizen in this county and then wanted their jobs back. Since when did "volunteer" mean getting paid? Plus retirement and insurance....geeze
