The Homer Volunteer Fire Department in Banks County will host a regional meeting with the Georgia Firefighters Standards and Training Council’s Executive Director Lyn Pardue.
The meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 15, beginning at 7 p.m. and will last as long as the questions and answers concerning the new rule changes involving Title 25 of the Georgia Statute concerning firefighter minimum standards and level of training required.
These new changes involve volunteer, as well as career firefighters throughout the state.
This meeting will be opened to all firefighters, FD officers and chief officers in the state, but particularly GMAG Area 1, 7 and the northern end of the state.
Light refreshments will be served and restaurant row at Banks Crossing and Interstate-85 will be before and after the meeting.
The meeting will be held at the Banks County Government Building Annex on Hudson Ridge off Hudson Valley Drive off of Thompson Street. Thompson Street runs off of Highway 441North just past the First Georgia Bank. If traveling south on Highway 441, drive past McCoy Bridge Road, cross the bridge and turn right on Thompson Street. Hudson Road is next to the Banks County Health Department. If you’re coming from Atlanta, get off on exit 149, which is the Highway 441 exit. Take a left and go towards Homer and Baldwin on Highway 441 and turn left onto Thompson Street.

So the guy who makes 28,000 and the one who gets paid 15 a call should be trained equal but not compensated the same? Go ahead Georgia let's see how long this goes before a federal judge throws it out the door !
Nothing more then the IAFF and there crowd trying to turn everything into full time and paid! More Tax payers $ being manipulated.
