While Ronald McDonald and the large number of kid-friendly exhibits and displays are sure to create plenty of excitement this Saturday at Gresham Motorsports Park, the real action will on the GMP half-mile oval as a season championships will be decided in four divisions.

Drivers competing in the GMP Pro Late Model Mini-Stock, Truck and Renegade Street Stock divisions - will have a shot at moving up in the standings as those events will feature Double Championship Points.

The racing program will be highlighted by the Thomas Concrete 100 Pro Late Model event. David Odell leads the current Pro Late Model standings thanks in large part to his May 15 event win at GMP. Others expected to be in the championship hunt Saturday include Johnny Henderson, Kevin Stephens, Shawn Simpson, Hunter Robbins, Daniel Bolden, Nick Potts and Dwayne Buggay.

Additionally, the winner of Saturday’s Thomas Concrete 100 will earn an automatic starting spot for the Pro Late Model portion of the World Crown 300 weekend at GMP November 12-14.

Meanwhile, the division points races in Renegade Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Trucks will also come down to the wire Saturday at GMP.

Doug Sexton has led the Renegade Street Stock points all season, but he will have to have a solid effort Saturday to win the title on fast closing Jody Trivett, Nathaniel Carlisle, Mike Childers and Greg Jarrett.

In the Mini Stock division, Spanky Hicks has a big lead in the season standings, but a slip Saturday on Double Points night could allow challengers Ken Candiotti, Sr., Steve Hill, Avery Burgess or Tim Greer to slip into the top spot.

Finally, Alabama’s Brittany Finley could become the first woman in the 40-year history of GMP to win a division title when she takes the green flag in the Truck Series main event Saturday evening. Finley has a 75-point lead over Joel Townsend with Brandon Franklin, Bill Hoose, Jeremy Parris and Brian Huff all in the hunt for the Truck division title.

Saturday’s GMP event will also feature a 35-lap non-points feature event for the GMP Outlaw Late Models. The title in that division was decided on September 18 with David Murphy taking top honors.

The GMP Grandstand and Trackside Ticket and Parking areas for will open at 2 p.m. Opening Ceremonies are set for 7 p.m. with the first race taking the green flag at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
