ATHENS – Walter “Tommy” Thomas Kesler Jr. died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Crawford, he was the son of the late Walter Thomas Kesler Sr. and Biddie Adkins Kesler. He was retired from Salloum Construction as an equipment supervisor after 37 years, was a member of The Church At Southside and served his country in the United States Navy for four years. He loved to fish and hunt, especially squirrels, loved ones stated. Mr. Kesler was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Merk and sister, Aileen Hewell.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Faye Grimes Kesler; son and daughter-in-law, Walter Thomas “Tommy” Kesler III and Teresa Kesler, Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Diana Kesler and Richard Baker, Athens; sister Ouida Stone, Comer; brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Jean Kesler, Elberton; grandchildren, Chad Merk, Maysville and Lauren Kesler, Athens.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 6, from Lord & Stephens East Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Apostolic Church.
Lord & Stephens East was in charge of arrangements.
