Relaxation…Reflection…Rejuvenation...Head to Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., for a perfect beach get-away
BY ANGELA GARY
Relaxing on the balcony of our beach-front condo on a lounge chair looking out into the ocean as the waves crash against the shore. Heading out to the balcony each morning and evening to catch the sun set and rise from our front row seat to the amazing natural beauty before us.
Our stay at Villas at Santa Rosa Beach, a ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rental property in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., was a wonderful time of relaxation, reflection and rejuvenation. As soon as we entered our second-floor unit, we were swept away by the large spacious area, the bright, colorful beach décor and furnishings and our balcony looking out over the ocean.
We had four bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, laundry room and three bathrooms. It was very spacious but it was the balcony where we spent much of our time enjoying the views of the white sand and turquoise waters that this area of Florida is known for. [Full Story »]

Deputy injured on I-85
Gary Lynn Patterson, 32, of China Grove, NC was arrested Sunday evening after he struck a Banks County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle that was parked in the median at mile marker 154. Deputy Layfield was operating stationary LIDAR when Patterson’s 2005 Kenworth travelled off the roadway and struck the front end of the patrol unit.
Deputy Jason Layfield was standing outside of his vehicle when he observed the truck approaching. He attempted to escape from the collision but was unable to avoid it. Deputy Layfield was struck by his patrol unit after it was struck by the tractor trailer. He was then thrown further down the median from the initial crash site.
Patterson left the scene and was later found at Travelers Center of America by Georgia State Patrol. GSP is investigating the crash and pursuing charges. Patterson was arrested and charged with DUI drugs, serious injury by vehicle, striking a fixed object, failure to maintain lane, failure to report accident with injury, following too closely, and hit and run-leaving the scene of an accident.
Deputy Layfield was transported by EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and was later released with non-life threatening injuries.
