Wilda Mae Segars Watson, 86, of Canon, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
She was born in Banks County on July 28, 1922, the daughter of the late John Harrison and Emmie Mae Wood Segars. She was a homemaker and was Baptist. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Watson; six brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James H. “Butch” and Libby Watson, Canon; daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine Watson and Jim Bowen, Lincolnton, Rebecca Jane and Worley Scogin, Blairsville, Sandra Gale and Stoney Stone, Anderson, S.C.; sisters, Mozelle Royston and Betty Brown, both of Lavonia, Rachel Chatham, Bogart; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 6, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Williard Crider officiating. Burial was in the Franklin Memorial Gardens-North.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
