COMMERCE – Jessie Lamar Eubanks, 97, died Thursday morning, September 30, 2010, at BJC Medical Center in Commerce.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Jessie Cornelius and Ertie Virginia Barnett Eubanks. Mr. Eubanks was preceded in death by two wives, Margie Irvin Eubanks, the mother of the children, and Elise Bennett Eubanks.

Survivors include children, J. Walter and Joyce Eubanks, Commerce, Randall and Sandra Eubanks, Tucker, Betty J. Baxter, Commerce; siblings, Ollie Mae Lewis and Curtis Eubanks, both of Commerce, Gynelle Otting, Baldwin; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 30, from 5 to 8 p.m., on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service and at other times at the respective homes of the children.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
