Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman reported on Monday that Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputies pulled up seven large marijuana plants on Wednesday, June 30, in Lula.

Chapman said, “Narcotics officers watched the marijuana plants, located in a thickly dense area off Sweetwater Way in Lula, for several days hoping to catch someone in the patch, but was unable to do so.”

Officers went ahead and pulled the plants to keep anyone else from getting them Chapman stated.

“Some of the plants were close to nine feet in height,” Chapman said.

Chapman said, “Narcotics investigators are continuing the investigation.”

Can someone tell me what a "Thickly dense Area" is? And this patch is it sort like a pea patch?Maybe the suspects were off checking sex offenders and then had a wreck cause one of thier ex-wives was in the car with the chief deputy. The suspect wanted to get home and post his pics on facebook only to have his constitutional rights violated by being told to take them off facebook because he was expressing his opinion about the Sheriff's Office. What a tangled web we weave!

tell me how can you see pot plants unless you are looking for them , what if an someome was looking for a lost dog and happened to stumble upon the plants and the cops are waiting to bust someone ,,, just pull the stuff up , having them found is punshishmet in itself. first thing is to take pictures of area and location gps corn. then watch and wait , sad to the cops could have took a smoke break I mean lunch and came back and the plants where gone , all but seven anyways

Thanks anon it's about time people of banks county learn what is going on at the sheriffs office and jail... These are daily normal activities and they seem to have no problem with it. It doesn't matter if your married or single. Maybe someone will come in and clean out the trash at the sheriffs office and jail for once... You think they are working hard to protect the citizens and keep inmates in line... Please they are talking to each other, texting all night long and keep there little dirty lives a secret to everyone else..oops looks like your secrets are getting out..

IT'S HARD FOR SHERIFF CHAPMAN TO CONTROL HIS DEPUTIES... IT'S SAD TO HEAR WHAT A MESS, LIVES, MARRIAGES AND KIDS THAT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED IN THE PAST MONTHS AND HE HAS SET BACK LET ALL THIS HAPPEN.....

Umm...just listing a first name is about the same as being anonymous. Seems a little hypocritical.

I'm not worried about everyone's business. I know first hand about the trash that goes on at the jail, anyone with half a brain in banks county knows what goes on there. It's sad that a hard working man/woman couldn't work there with out putting up with this CRAP.. As far as my life it's pretty awesome not perfect. There was only one perfect person and that was JESUS my friend. As far as your comment goes to clean out your back porch before you make comments about others.. I have nothing to hide in my life that I'm ashamed of so no cleaning is needed. And nope I'm not GOD I will leave the judging to him I just stated the FACTS.

There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the pointless drama
and the people who create it, and surround yourself with people who make
you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus on the good. Life
is too short to be anything but happy

GET OVER IT

Some where Marie I think you misunderstood the comments here. People are tired of all the trash that goes on and are ready to clean the place up..
So you don't get over it- You get rid of it ..
