‘Doc’ Butler

MAYSVILLE – Theodore “Doc” Butler, 84, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at his residence.

Born in Cleburn County, he was the son of the late Albert and Bertha Lee Hanney Butler. Mr. Butler was preceded in death a son, Michael Butler.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Vincent Butler, Maysville; children, Helen Scott, Cartersville, Sheila Cotton and Janice Mattson, both of Maysville; a sister, Belle Thornton, Jacksonville, Ala.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 21, from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Terry Hagwood and Jerry Smith officiating. Burial was in Maysville.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
