Banks County girl’s basketball team have a full month and summer ahead.
The summer kicked off with the Little Lady Leopard’s camp. The camp, for rising third through sixth graders, intended to build individual and team fundamentals in the girls.
Coach Jerry King along with several varsity players spent the week instructing the girls and running drills at the high school.
With an attendance of 25 campers, King said that it was a good group but other activities or camps probably kept more girls from coming out.
With the camp just the start of the summer, the BCHS Lady Leopards along with the JV Ladies are heading to GA College on Thursday for a camp before returning next week to play at Jefferson Monday through Thursday against several other teams.
The games next week will be throughout the day for both JV and varsity.
At the end of the month, Banks County will host a middle school camp at the middle school gym and at the recreation department gym.
The camp will run Monday through Wednesday with games at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Several area schools are on schedule to attend.
