The Banks County mat Leopards are starting off the summer with their nose on the grindstone.
Grapplers began summer practice on Tuesday and hit the mats for live wrestling on Thursday at Clarke Central. The summer match begins at 5 p.m. Thursday.
While coach Kasey Hanley and the varsity wrestlers prepare for next season and hopefully the state championship, the Banks County wrestling program is also geared up for the third annual summer wrestling camp.
This year’s Alex Tucker Foothills wrestling camp will be held June 14-17 at the Leopards’ Den gym beside the elementary school.
Coach Hanley is still accepting registration for the camp which will focus on improving the ability and intensity of wrestlers at the middle through varsity levels.
For more information and how to contact coach Hanley, see this week's The Banks County News.
