MAYSVILLE – Charles William Gill Sr., 66, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Lois Ella Elliott Gill of Little Rock, Ark. and the late Charles William Gill. He was an engineer and a United States Navy Veteran.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Betty Jean Odell Gill, Maysville; daughters, Cindy Louise Adams and Melissa Lynn Johnson, both of Commerce; a son, Charles William Gill Jr., Savannah; sisters, Karen Dahlman, Milwaukee, Wis., Tricia Gill, Stockton, Calif., and Barbara Gill, London, England; a brother, David Elliot Gill, Little Rock, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 28, at 3 p.m., from the Dry Pond United Methodist Church with the Revs. Phil Williams and David Elliot Gill officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, May 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
