A Homer man died as a result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident Friday night on Caudell Road.
Banks County sheriff Charles Chapman confirmed Christopher Brian Wylie, 32, of Homer died after being transported to Banks Jackson Commerce Medical Center by county EMS officials. Wylie’s 1977 Chevrolet pickup was traveling east on Caudell Road when he apparently lost control while negotiating a curve and the truck began to skid.
Wylie overcorrected and then went across the north shoulder and struck a tree.
Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene although the Georgia State Patrol office handled the investigation.
Chapman was attending a candidate forum at the Banks County Parks and Recreation Department when the accident occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. but was notified via cell phone.
The official report from the GSP was not available as of Monday.
