It took a few weeks into the season, but the Banks County boys’ soccer team has finally gotten their legs under them and added some wins.
With the team being off this week for spring break, the Leopards return on April 6, to make up the Stephens County match from earlier in March. Game time is set for 7 p.m. following the girls’ match at 5 p.m.
The boys picked up their first win of the season over Fannin last Monday in a 3-1 match which was also the Leopards’ first region win of the season.
A close 1-0 match against Buford on Tuesday made the season record 1-7, but Banks battled back on Friday as they took on Lakeview for a second region win, 2-0.
Banks County now sits on a 2-2 region record and a 2-7 overall season as the team takes a breather this week from competition.
Following the Stephens County match on Tuesday, the boys host region opponent Rabun County on April 9. The Leopards face Rabun at 5 p.m. with the boys’ match, followed by the girls at 7 p.m.
Lady Leopards
The Banks County Lady Leopards’ soccer team is still in a rut, winless after seven games.
With some time off this week for spring break, the girls will return rested and refreshed to face Stephens County and Rabun County next week.
Against Fannin on March 22, the girls fell, blanked 0-8. In the next match against Buford it was more of the same as Buford also took an 8-0 win over Banks.
While the girls played Lakeview last Friday, results were unavailable at press time.
BCHS boys move to 2-7
