Lady Netters fall to Jefferson
Banks County’s lady netters had a tough challenge last week as the Lady Leopards faced the reigning region champion Jefferson.
Coach Lisa Thomas commented after the match that the girls “went into with their best foot forward.”
Jefferson came away with a 5-0 win after some very close sets.
“Even though we lost, they should have left with their head held high. Each match challenged both the Jefferson players and the Banks County players,” said Thomas.
Banks County now prepares to host Towns County today (Wednesday) and Walnut Grove on Thursday. Banks County needs a win over Walnut Grove to push further toward getting into the region tournament.
Banks County had to reschedule last Wednesday’s match with Rabun County due to rain. The Lady Leopards now host the Lady Wildcats on April 6.
