It comes down to communication for the Lady Leopards on the soccer field.
The girls remain winless after three weeks into the season and coach Megan Williams wants the girls talking to each other on the field.
Banks County fell to Dawson County on Tuesday night 0-1. The loss to the Tigers follows last week’s losses in the Lumpkin County Mountain Cup tourney to White County (0-5) and host Lumpkin (1-5).
Williams and the Lady Leopards will focus on communicating, as well as passing the ball, in practice as the girls prepare to head to Towns County on Friday night.
The girls start at 5 p.m. at Towns with the boys to follow at 7 p.m.
“If we focus on passing the ball instead of just trying to dribble the ball down the field, it will help us save our energy as well as tire out the other team,” said Williams, adding that with only one substitute, the Lady Leopards need to stay fit to play the full match. Communication and ball handling improvements will benefit the team as the girls hit the stride of their season.
