COMMERCE – Joy Fowler Malner, 31, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Flowery Branch. Born in Clarke County, she was the daughter of June Brock of Homer and Neil Fowler of Flowery Branch. Mrs. Malner was preceded in death by a sister, Heather Allyson Fowler; and grandfathers, D.S. Carter and Marcus Fowler.
Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband, John Andrew Malner, Commerce; daughters, Brittany Nicole, Makayla Lillian and Gabrielle Elizabeth Mainer, all of Commerce; a brother, Mark Hunter, Maysville; and stepbrother, Paul Brock, Carnesville; maternal grandmother, Nomie Lee Carter, Maysville; paternal grandmother, Vivian Fowler, Gainesville; in-law grandparents, Elizabeth Malner and Charles Sartin; uncle, Darryl Fowler; aunts, Susan Davis and Kim Ramsey; in-laws, Ed and Diane Malner, Meridian, Miss.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bowen officiating. Burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 9, from 5 to 9 p.m.
