Two face drug charges in Banks County

Two people were arrested on Monday, Feb. 22, on drug charges at the Howard Johnson Inn at Banks Crossing.
Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said BCSO narcotic investigators executed a search warrant in Room 112 at the motel and a couple who had rented the room several days earlier were arrested.

Jacob Aranda Garcia, 26, 107 Brookhollow Road, Norcross, and Michelle Leigh Hollman, 31, 1587 Jacquelline Court, Stone Mountain, were both charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession and distribution of marijuana and possession of firearms during the commission of a crime.

Chapman said the search warrant resulted in the seizure of six ounces of methamphetamine and one pound of marijuana.
Also seized were three guns and $11,684 in U.S. currency.

“When the drugs were seized, it appeared that the meth would weigh over one pound, but when it dried its weight was reduced to six ounces,” Chapman said. “It is believed that the drugs came from the area towards Atlanta.”

Both Garcia and Hollman are being held in the Banks County Jail without bond at this time awaiting their next appearance in superior court for a bond hearing.

The male is also an illegal in this country, Chapman added.

The investigation continues by the BCSO criminal investigation narcotic agents.

This is what we're learning about in health, drugs. I wish these folks would've made a smarter decision.
