Relaxing in the hot tub in the cool, crisp mountain air…Roasting marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace…Rocking in one of the wooden chairs on the desk and enjoying the snow-covered mountain view…Playing a game of pool in the upstairs game room…Sitting around the cozy fireplace in the large living room as you watch a DVD with your family…Gathering around the large wooden table for a family-style breakfast in the kitchen…Ending your day under a down comforter in a comfy king-size bed…Watershed Cabins in Bryson City, North Carolina, is a vacation destination in itself. Perched on a mountaintop retreat, you have plenty of privacy as you leave everyday life behind and enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating family vacation.

You don't have to leave the property but if you do crave some adventure, Bryson City has plenty to offer. The quaint mountain town offers plenty of outdoor adventure, including kayaking, fly fishing, whitewater rafting, hiking and horseback riding. For the less adventurous, there is shopping in unique stores and breathtaking scenery perfect for a meandering drive though the countryside.

Just a couple of hours drive away, North Georgia residents will find a perfect mountain get-away that is great for families looking for a vacation escape. We spent a long weekend at Watershed Cabins, located on a mountain top in Bryson City, North Carolina. Our luxurious cabin was surrounded by beautiful mountain countryside. It was a great place for some quality family time. With the hot tub and outdoor fire place, we spent lots of time on the deck. Inside, we enjoyed the pool table and checker table all set up and ready to play. With the large kitchen and living room area, it made for a great place to relax with family.

The modern, luxurious décor sets Watershed cabins apart from other cabins. This includes stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, surround-sound systems, 600-thread count Egyptian cotton linens, down comforters, pillow-top mattresses and hardwood floors.

The breathtaking, rugged mountain environment is more mountainous than the north Georgia mountains and considered an unspoiled beauty compared to the more developed areas of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Watershed offers a wide variety of cabins ranging from the one bedroom treehouse to a five-bedroom lodge that will sleep 15 or more people. We chose a three-bedroom cabin and had plenty of space for our seven family members (five adults and two children).

The cabins are conveniently located near the Nantahala River, Fontana Lake, the Cherokee Indian Reservation, the Tsali mountain biking trails and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad.
