Snowfall hit Banks County Friday afternoon with low temps in the area throughout the weekend. The snow fell from around 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in parts of the county, bringing several inches of snow to the area. A number of wrecks were reported Friday afternoon and during the night around the county.
The old Banks County courthouse sports a coat of snow as a blanket of the white stuff covered Homer and most of the county Saturday morning.

Friday was already a teacher workday because it scheduled in September.

the schools weren't closed due to the snow it was a scheduled holiday for the kids.
