It’s down to the final games of the season for Banks County as the Leopards prepare for this weekend’s on the road match-ups.
The Leopards should have a little more spirit in the tank after a pair of subregion wins last week, including one of the closest finishes Banks has played all year.
Banks County defeated Oglethorpe last Tuesday then made a play at the buzzer on Friday night to steal the victory away from North Oconee.
With the Leopards starting this week 6-13 overall, the boys will look to end the regular season on a high note as Banks take on Walnut Grove and East Jackson.
On Thursday, Banks will make up a weather delayed game against Walnut Grove on the road.
The Leopards earlier picked up a 73-65 victory over the Warriors and look to repeat the performance this week. Tip-off is at 6:30 p.m. following the girls’ game.
Coming up after the Walnut Grove game, Banks County rematches against East Jackson on Friday. Game time is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at East Jackson.
The Eagles have proven to be a highly athletic team, according to Leopard head coach Mike Ruth, and he is looking to come out on top in the rematch. East Jackson defeated Banks on Jan. 26, 58-53.
Banks County was scheduled to take on Union County last Saturday, but that game was canceled by Union and will not be rescheduled.
The Leopards hosted Jefferson on Tuesday in the home closer. Results from Tuesday’s game were unavailable at press time.
