LAVONIA – Martha Ledbetter Andrews, 99, died Monday, January 18, 2010, at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.

Born on September 14, 1910, in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late John and Alpha Grubbs Ledbetter. She was a member of Golden Agers Club, Franklin County Home Demonstration Club and Lavonia First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and volunteered at the Carnesville Elementary School Library. Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Andrews; son, Calvin Andrews; son-in-law, Ed Kesler; brothers, George Ledbetter and Leon Ledbetter; and sisters, Hudna Echols, Johnnie Sue Cisson and Gladys Strickland.

Survivors include daughters, Frances Kesler, Westminster, S.C., Abby Oddo and Santo, Palm Coast, Fla., and Sarah Brafford and Paul, Greenville, N.C.; sons, Kenneth Andrews and Joyce, and Roger Andrews and Barbara, all of Toccoa, Harold Andrews and Dean, The Villages, Fla., Doug Andrews and Patricia, Alto, and David Andrews and Eloise, Auburn; daughter-in-law, Frances (wife of Calvin) Andrews, Lavonia; sisters, Ruby Sheriff, Covington, Margaret Thomason, Toccoa; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, at 2 p.m., at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Revs. Paul Brafford and Richard Bielski, Steve Andrews and Larry Finger officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens-North. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, January 19, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Lavonia First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 47, Lavonia, GA 30553.

Strickland Funeral Home, Lavonia Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
