Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said on Monday that officers were called out to both Ryan’s Steakhouse and Longhorn’s Steakhouse parking lots to reports of car break-ins.
Chapman said that the car break-in at Ryan’s resulted in the theft of clothes, cameras and a woman’s purse. Three women occupied the vehicle at Ryan’s and all three women lost their passports in the theft, Chapman reported.
“A video camera at Ryan’s shows a tall, slender, black male driving a dark colored van to be the one who broke into the vehicle,” Chapman said.
Although there was a video, investigators have been unable to identify the person breaking into the vehicle, Chapman stated.
At Longhorn’s, a GPS and a laptop computer were taken from a vehicle parked there.
The Banks County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate.
