HOLLINGSWORTH – Faye Wise Dalton, 95, died Sunday, November 8, 2009, at a private care facility.

Born on November 26, 1913, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late John Tyler and Idela Smith Wise. She was the oldest member of the Harmony Baptist Church, having been a member her entire life. She taught Sunday School, was a member of Baptist Women on Mission, sang in the church choir, played the piano, and worked in Vacation Bible School at her church. She was a graduate of Piedmont College and then taught at Baldwin Elementary School for 34 years before her retirement. She was an Emeritus member of the Habersham Retired Teachers Association and was the last member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Dalton was preceded in death by her husband, Broughton Dalton; five sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and George Hardeman, Guatemala City, Guatemala; son and daughter-in-law, Len and Atha Dalton, Baldwin; grandchildren, Len B. and Renee Dalton, Tommy and Laura Dalton, John and Brooke Dalton, Lynna and Robert Gotsch, Nathan and Claudia Hardeman, Daniel and Nikki Hardeman, Rebecca Hardeman, Jeremy and Anna Ledford, Jody Ledford, and Jamey Ledford; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Payton Dalton, Allie and Nolan Dalton, Jake Dalton, John Gotsch, Levi and Caleb Hardeman, and Natalie Hardeman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, at 11 a.m., at Harmony Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Vandiver and Gene Todd officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home Friday, November 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5223 Old Hwy. 441 North, Baldwin, GA 30511, or to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, c/o Harmony Baptist Church, 5223 Old Hwy. 441 North, Baldwin, GA 30511.

Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, is in charge of arrangements.
