LULA – Reba Segars Parker, 88, died Sunday, October 4, 20090, at her residence.
Born on August 14, 1921, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Lou Ausburn Segars. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Vasco Parker; a daughter, Brenda Jordan; son, Russell Parker; seven sisters; and one brother. She was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church. She was retired from the Banks County School System as a lunchroom worker with 14 years of dedicated service.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby and Gene McDuffie, Baldwin, Jenni and David Gailey, Lula; son, Wayne Parker, Lula; sister, Lessie Mote, Baldwin; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, at 11 a.m., at the Rock Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry Rice and Orton Deans officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 6, from 4 to 8 p.m.
