I hold a college degree but I’ve never claimed to be the smartest person in the world, or even on my block for that matter.

Looking for answers to the following
In fact, I’ve always said a college degree is simply a piece of paper. It in no way guarantees someone is smart or is prepared to get by in this crazy world.
So I don’t feel bad that I don’t have all the answers. No one does although we all know those who try to convince us otherwise. With that in mind, I wonder if any one in readership land might can clue me in on any of the following:
•Are the people protesting President Obama’s health care plan really against his plan or just against the President proposing it?
I mean, I can’t say I know too many people who haven’t gotten the runaround or outright shaft from insurance companies the way things are set up now. How many of us haven’t had to refile claims, wait on hold indefinitely while being transferred to one clueless person after another or been down right ripped off? You do know the goal of every insurance company is to deny as many claims as possible right? You do remember how much you are paying with your hard-earned money for insurance coverage for everything from your vehicle to your house to your life?
Is President Obama’s plan the best? Probably not. Does something need to be done to make the system better? How can the answer be anything but yes?
•Why do so many people find it necessary to talk on their cell phones while driving? Do you really have something so pressing that it cannot wait until you get to your destination?
True story: I recently met a driver who had her cell phone to her ear with one hand and was thumping her cigarette out the window with the other. How that person was driving is beyond my comprehension?
•Why do so many University of Georgia football fans feel they have a right to trash Athens when they arrive for game day? Why do these same “fans” feel they have a right to relieve themselves in public at said games?
Athens is turned into a sewer on game days in the fall and it appears University and city officials have finally had enough of it. (What took so long?) The ironic part of it many of those attending the game never took one class at UGA.
•Why have so many people been willing to give up their civil liberties under the guide of our war on terrorism? The Patriot Act, Homeland Security, warrantless wire tapping and the like do nothing but violate the rights of honest Americans.
Please tell me it’s not because these items were pushed through by a President that so many in this part of the country supported. Would you so willingly accept these items if our current President had pushed them through under the cover of darkness?
What’s wrong for one is wrong for the other.
•When will Americans wake up and break out of the stranglehold the current two-party system has on them?
•When will people realize FOX News is not a legitimate news organization and was never created to be so.
•When will our current President do as he promised and bring our troops home and quit making them be the world’s policeman?
•When will a politician actually do what he or she says they will do once they are elected.

2. Amen. I agree with you Bridges.
3. The old saying "If you don't have to clean it up, you're not going to keep it clean." Sad but true.
4. Look at it both ways. At least efforts are made to catch these cowards that are bombing us. I dislike Big Brother as much as you though.
5. I agree. We need more parties.
6. FOX is as legitimate as CNN, ABC,NBC,CBS,etc., it's just slanted the other way and you don't like it.
7. Who knows? It's easy to promise things when you don't fully understand what's going on.
8. There's always more than meets the eye in politics. It's easy for us on the outside to criticize, but there's always another set of consequences that the average person may not understand. I agree though they mostly seem like crooks to me.
2. I can't speak for everyone but using my cellphone while driving allows me to conduct business and let me spend time with my family when I get home.
3. I guess they are the same mentality that thinks its okay to let government take my money and give it to them in entitlement programs (Social Security, Medicare, Food Stamps, etc.)
4. I don't get this one except look at previous answer. We ahve a lot of people now who want soemthing for nothing and don't mind being a prisoner/slave of the state.
5. I hope soon. The Tea Parties, the citizens of Hoschton are examples that we are beginning to stand up.
6. FOX is probably more legit than the broadcast and main stream print media.
7. I hope not until we have bombed the heck out of them and won.
8. Never. Unless the people constantly watch and show up to confront them personally.
BTW, Bridges is no Libertarian. No Libertarian carrying a card (or worth their salt) would ever endorse new government programs. Libertarians disavow any and all government intrusion.
Which is all good until your children get blown up in a terrorist attack. Personally I don't mind if the Government reads my emails especially if it keeps my family safe.
