LULA – Ernest Eugene Pinnell, 71, died Thursday, September 24, 2009, at his residence following a sudden illness.
Born in DeKalb County on October 7, 1937, he was the son of the late Marion Eugene Sr. and Ethel Wilson Pinnell. He was a retired supervisor with Fieldale Farms with nine years of service. He was of the Baptist denomination and enjoyed helping others. Mr. Pinnell was preceded in death by a brother, Alex Pinnell.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Pinnell, Lula; children, Wanda and Brad Howard, Oakwood, Timothy and Thelma Pinnell Windy and Franky Roper, Phillip McGee, all of Gainesville, Tommy and Tammie Pinnell, Lula, Mellissa and Donny Pricher and Danny Pinnell, all of Winder, Debbie Nichols, Atlanta, Renee and Mike Jernigan and Danny Temples, all of Alabama, Crystal and Kenneth Boyer, Homer, and Gary and Rhonda Cox, Auburn; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Freida Pinnell, Hoschton; sisters, Alice Greer, Hoschton, and Betty Pinnell, Auburn; 28 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Pinnell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 24, from 3 to 5 p.m. and Friday, September 25, from 7 to 9 p.m.
