Banks County’s Lady Leopards had a successful number of games last week as the ladies added another region win as well as a second place tournament finish.
Weather has caused delays for Banks this week. The Lady Leopards were scheduled to play Fannin County on Tuesday, but were rained out. At press time, a date had not been set for the make-up.
Today (Wednesday) the ladies were supposed to head down the road to face non-region rival Commerce, but due to inclement weather that game is postponed as well.
Banks County stays on the coaches poll for a second week. Banks entered in at the number eight spot and hangs onto it for this week. Number one in the polls is Buford, followed by North Oconee and Blessed Trinity.
If the rain blows on across, Banks will be on the field on Thursday to host Dawson County. Dawson’s Lady Tigers are 10-5 overall and 1-1 in the region.
Dawson County has a bit of a streak going on the Lady Leopards, as Dawson picked up every game in the 2008 season and the first meeting of the 2009 season on Aug. 15.
Game time is at 5:55 p.m. in Homer.
