A good defense coupled with some clutch hits put the Lady Leopards on the right track as Banks County started region play in Jefferson last week.
Jefferson’s Lady Dragons proved no match as Banks County took a 6-1 region win to start their region campaign.
This week, the Lady Leopards have two home region contests.
Banks’ region game against Rabun County game on Tuesday was rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
Rabun County is 1-6 overall with an average 2 runs scored per game. Banks defeated the Wildcats in the last meeting between the schools during the 2008 season 5-4.
Coming up on Thursday, the Lady Leopards host Union County. Union is 1-0 in region and 6-7 overall.
Banks County is 1-0 and 9-3 overall. Previously this season Union County defeated the Lady Leopards 4-0 in the Lanier Point tournament. Banks County is ready to record a win over the Lady Panthers and break a losing streak between the schools.
Game time is 6 p.m. in Homer.
