COLUMN: Truth about Obama’s ‘talk’ to students

Even now, days after the revelation came to light, it is still shocking.

Conservative pundits are rightfully in an uproar. The uncovering of this bombshell has made the ratings for FOX News at an all time high.

Yes, it appears President Obama was going to hypnotize young students during his “talk” with them. Not only that, while the students were under the President’s trance, he was going to brainwash them into becoming future Democratic voters.

President Obama, using a secret new mind control device invented by Democratic Party scientists, had a sure fire method on his hands of helping guarantee his party would stay in power for a long time.

The news of this startling revelation has sent a tidal wave of emotion throughout the conservative base, including local die-hard Republicans. With this in mind, I ventured out to gather reaction from those who were rightfully upset.

“I knew this president was dangerous, but who knew he would take it this far?” said one man at an area bookstore as he looked for a bargain on some Ann Coulter best sellers.

Outside the bookstore, one woman, who got of a car with a bumper sticker which said, “Voting For A Democrat Equals Terrorism,” said she would not put anything past President Obama.

“I don’t know how he was ever elected in the first place,” she said. “We should have changed the laws in this country so George Bush could have been elected again. If not Bush, then Cheney would have been a great president. He was great at getting us into all kinds of wars.”

Down at the local coffee shop, several men were talking politics over their morning ritual of scrambled eggs and coffee.

“I called the school board and told them there was no way my child was going to listen to anything that Obama had to say,” said one man with a cap with a “Bill O’Reilly For President” emblem on it. “I told that superintendent I would keep my young ‘un at home that day.”

Another man at the round breakfast table summed up his feelings by saying: “It’s amazing how low the Democrats have sunk. They are now resorting to mind control to try and get votes. Thankfully FOX News blew the lid off this scandal. You know if you see it on FOX News, it’s true.”

Reports indicate the mind-control device would be activated when young students looked into the President’s eyes. Once he began speaking, they would become powerless against anything he said or suggested.

“These young students would then go home and tell their parents to support the President even though we all know he is a Communist,” said one local woman who was all set to protest outside the local school board office. “I mean, we don’t even know if the President was born in this country and now he is using mind control under the guise of talking to our children. It’s unbelievable.”

Once word of the plot become common knowledge, the White House had to drop its plan and offer a more honest talk from the President. There has been no word if future attempts to use the new mind control device (known by its top secret name of OBAMATALKSECRET0008) will be undertaken. If so, you can rest assured citizens will be ready to stop it.

Oh please, I think you people have been reading to much Science Fiction. Mind Control devices. Oh brother. How about getting back to the real world. Obama is doing a great job so far considering the mess he has to clean up left by the Republicans and Bush. If we'd had a democrat in office 4 years ago we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now.

the left has every channel but one and you can't stand it. You can't stand that you lose the ratings game every single day..... by the way, Obama's mind control device is in a secret bunker with Bush's weather machine........one is just as stupid as the other.....

seriously you believe this? wow I'm amazed at how stupid you people can get. Obama did nothing to you he's a great speaker and he's doing a wonderful job as president and you need to get over it and stop sounding like an ignorant, stupid country hick. You pricks are what are ruining the country, not the president. He hasn't done anything to warrant your animosity towards him so shut your mouths and go back to your trailer parks. Instead of trashing him you need to show some support, because even if you don't like him, he is still the leader of this country and deserves the respect of the citizens of this nation. Get a life!!!!!!!

Don't Matter-
Please enlighten me as to what Obama has done to deserve so much respect? Was it that he was elected on false premises and mostly because of the media's promotion and fascination? Or maybe that he is sinking this country into so much debt that generations to come will have to suffer for it?
As for his wonderful speaking skills, he does nothing for me; I can detect a lie when I hear one. I personally think one should have to have more qualifications than "great speaking skills" to become president of the United States. (Or perhaps a better title for Obama would be "PresiDEBT".)
As for the article above, it's just another attempt of Chris Bridges to try and make the citizens of Banks County and the surrounding area look and sound like dumb country hicks. However, I'd like to inform him that it isn't working. It likely isn't possible that he could think less of the conservatives in the county than they think of his liberal ignorance. Most people, like me, probably think he's so open minded that his brain has apparently leaked out. Furthermore, his use of sarcasm and attempted wittiness isn't so funny. My guess is that very few doubled over in laughter after reading the above article. Parent's have the responsibility and every right to decide who and what their children watch on television, including addresses from the president.

Hey "don't matter"
1. It's "doesn't matter", "don't matter" doesn't make sense.
2. Capitalize words that begin sentences.
3. You should have a period between you and he's.
4. Your fourth "sentence" makes no sense.
I wouldn't say all of this if you didn't call people you don't know "stupid".
You're right about Obama being a great speaker. That's the reason he's president. He has little experience, ideals much farther left than the average citizen, and is in over his head over a healthcare system that will never work. Just like voting in a beauty contest, the outside is all that matters. America is waking up to a choice they hastily made based more on charm than merit.

Doesn't Matter------ Who appointed you to point out everyone's mistakes? Are you a Chris Bridge's fan?

One of the funniest clips I have ever heard on the radio came a few years ago. Some Georgia redneck was taped saying, "Vote Bush for President in 06." Didn't know first that there was no presidential election in 06 and also didn't know that Bush couldn't run again by law.

just a note to Chris Bridges,,author of the aforementioned article.....When I read the comments made concerning this article,,,,I get the feeling that your readers are not ready for ,,satire...nor...sarcasm......but personally I think this is really great work...It show the caliber of the people responding with such concern.....
#8 Doesn't matter on 09/10/09 at 08:17 PM [Reply]
Disgusted, you've got to be kidding me. The reason I pointed out his or her mistakes is the fact that they're the one bashing the locals calling them "pricks", "stupid", "country hicks", etc. My point was watch your tongue if you can't avoid simple grammar errors that a seventh grader would know.

Enjoyed the column, keep up the good work. I am truly grateful to live this God blessed country. Fight the good fight Democrats and republicans, but always remember we are all Americans. United we stand, divided we Fall!
