MAYSVILLE – James H. Green, 88, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009.
Born in Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Osmar and Mae Terry Green. He worked as a sheet metal worker and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union and the Tucker Lodge. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II and was recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife, Monteen Garmon Green, Maysville; daughter, Teresa Cain, Maysville; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Connie Green, Monroe; grandchildren, Tracy Dicara and Kelly Cain; great-grandchildren, Michael Hammett, Danielle Mundy and Dalton Dicara; great-great-grandchildren, Waylon Hammett and Hayden Hammett; sisters, Harriette Cabe and Genia Green.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Tucker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, July 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.
