GAINESVILLE – Geraldine Jarrard, 63, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in New Mexico following an extended illness.
Born on July 20, 1945, in Gwinnett County, she was the daughter of the late Casey and Dovie Lou Butler Odom. She was a seamstress for Dundee Mills and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mrs. Jarrard was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Jarrard; a daughter, Phyllis Jarrard; and son, John Jarrard.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Rebecca Jarrard, Gainesville; daughters and son-in-law, Laurie and Kirk Little, New Mexico, Tina Winne, Gainesville; daughter, Melissa Combs, and special friend, Richard Pope, Lula; grandchildren, Jonathan Jarrard, Victor Little, Chalienna Little, Kimberly Combs, Joshua Combs, Aron Pilcher, Tristan Winne and Trinity Winne; brothers and sisters, Pauline Van Vanbught, Ripon, Calif., Pearline Odom and Clarence Odom, both of Gainesville, Julie Edwards and Nancy Jones, both of Flowery Branch, and Danny Odom, Lula.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 28, at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Revs. Hoyt Skelton, Earl Jarrard and Steve Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
