MAYSVILLE – Bonnie Mae Savage Gowder, 92, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Hill Haven Nursing Home.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillie Truelove Savage. Mrs. Gowder was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Gowder; brother, John Savage; granddaughter, Teresa Reed; and great-grandson, Cody Joseph Gowder.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Aaron Haggard, Danielsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Grace Gowder and Billy and Edna Gowder, all of Maysville; sister, Ruth Scroggs, Maysville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Swayne Carlan and Steve Savage officiating. Burial will be in the Grove Level Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, June 23, from 6 to 9 p.m., and at other times at the home of Lisa Hill, 8200 Jefferson Rd., Commerce.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
