BALDWIN – Lucy Poole, 73, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Banks County on October 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Estelle Wood Poole. She was retired from Scovill Manufacturing as an inspector and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Tanksley; and brother, Clay Poole. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and gardening, loved ones stated.
Survivors include a son, Terry Lee Poole, Baldwin; sister, Emma Poole, Baldwin; grandson, T.J. Poole, Toccoa; great-grandson, Trey Poole, Toccoa; nephews and spouses, Tim and Sherry Tanksley, Baldwin, and Jerry and Nancy Tanksley, Cornelia.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 31, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Revs. Terry Rice and Junior Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, May 30, from 7 to 9 p.m.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, is in charge of arrangements.
