GAINESVILLE – Glenn Henry “Buddy” Dyer, 68, died Friday, May 22, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Born December 23, 1940, in Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Jay Dewey and Erco Lou Durand Dyer. He was a tractor mechanic at Boyd Thomas Tractor for over 20 years and later retired from Piedmont Tractor in Gainesville. He was a deacon at Canaan Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dyer, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Clara Dyer, Gillsville, Dean and Kim Dyer, Gainesville; sisters, Laura Lou Dyer, Decatur, Druscilla Roberts, Gainesville, Carmen Dyer, Snellville; brothers, Jimmy Dyer, Stone Mountain, and Phillip Dyer, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Terry Scroggs, Decatur; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Francis Dyer, Statham; grandchildren, Pricilla and Josh Lewis, Jefferson, Robin and Chris Harris, Brandy and Cody Griffin, Mallory Dyer, Jeremy Dyer and Bethany Dyer, all of Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Emberlee and Annslynn Harris, Gainesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 26, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Revs. Ken Anderson, Spence Fuller, Hoyt Skelton and Earl Jarrard officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
