Chamber serves as entrepreneur and business center

Banks County Chamber of Commerce, as other chambers throughout our state and across the nation, serves as the first point of contact for prospective and existing businesses in their efforts to establish a new business or to expand existing operations. The Banks County Chamber, as all Chamber’s in the United States, serves as the catalyst for economic development activities in our county.

As in counties across the state, the Chamber works closely with city and county officials to provide information and assistance to business and industry prospects interested in Banks County locations.

The Economic Development Committee within the Chamber concentrates on fostering economic growth in business and industry through the retention and expansion of existing businesses in our area and by working to attract new employers to the area thereby creating a diversified tax base.

Business and industry are drawn to an area for a strong pro-business climate, nationally recognized schools, outstanding medical facilities, a low cost of living and an educated labor force. Business leaders also look for transportation assets, communication facilities, mild climate, high quality of life, recreational opportunities and natural scenic beauty.

The chamber is a service and action organization for business. We provide a venue through which people can take effective action for the progress of their communities such as helping create job opportunities through the stimulation of industrial and commercial growth. We also seek improvements in community infrastructure and human resources. We work to improve the viability of free enterprise through business input to the political process. In all of these functions, the chamber is a partner of every business and professional person in the area. We also aggressively seek out and contact prospective new industries and manufacturers, promote and assist in the expansion of existing industries, and in general, act as the catalyst for industrial development in the area.

We provide strong business community leadership to achieve objectives relating to growth, development and public well being that are common to the business community, the Banks County area and its citizens.

We actively promote and advance the business, commercial, economic, financial, professional, cultural, educational and civic welfare of Banks County.

We foster, maintain and preserve a friendly, personal and business relationship with the Banks County community, and exert all possible efforts to sustain the growth, expansion and interests of the system.

And lastly, we promote and offer economic programs to strengthen and expand the income potential of all businesses, promote programs of a civic, social and cultural nature which will increase the functional values of the community, and discover means to enhance business expansion and community growth.
