The Banks County Sheriff’s Office made three drug arrests during the search of a residence at 465 Garrison Shoals Road in Lula on Thursday, April 2.

Angela Bonds, 42, and her husband, Dennis Bonds, 45, both of 465 Garrison Shoals Road, were charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of Lortab, possession of Valium and possession of Soma. Mr. Bonds was also charged with theft by receiving stolen property.

Also arrested with the Bonds was Melvin Ivey, 40, 455 Garrison Shoals Road, Lula. Ivey was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said 8.7 grams of methamphetamine, 68 grams of marijuana, $1,267 in United States currency, several sets of scales and pipes were seized during the search.
Banks County Criminal Investigation Division Narcotics Agents continue to investigate the case.

ANOTHER DRUG CASE

In another case, a Royston man was arrested last week by the sheriff’s office on drug charges. John Lee Fleeman, 36, 3631 Athens Road, Royston, was charged with the sale of methamphetamines after he allegedly delivered drugs during an undercover operation by narcotics investigators.

Sheriff Chapman said officers also seized a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup as a result of this operation.
The investigation by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office continues.

Hey Sheriff, instead of letting them sit in jail, how about making them pick up trash along Hwy 164, Sims Bridge and Hebron Rd? That will keep them busy doing something worthwhile since new trash is strewn up and down those streets every day of the week. Apparently the nastiest people in Banks County live in that area. Disgusting! Too bad the ones who are doing it can't be forced to pick it up.

Sorry but they won't be sitting in jail they will be out and on the streets before I get this typed if they aren't already. I know these same people have been arrested several times before they will slap them on the wrist and told don't do it again and guess what within the next year we will read there names again.
