Ruby Tuesday, Inc. has been put on six-months probation after an employee was charged with selling alcohol to a 19-year-old undercover agent with the Georgia Department of Revenue and Tobacco.

Banks County Sheriff’s Office Chief Investigator Kyle Bryant said all business that sell alcohol in Banks County were checked during the latest operation. Ruby Tuesday was the only one that was found in violation of the alcohol ordinance.

The Banks County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously at a public hearing on Monday to place the restaurant on probation.

Commissioner Rickey Cain said, “That has pretty much been our procedure on others for their first offense.”
Cain told the manager that the commissioners encourage all business owners selling alcohol to check the identification of all patrons regardless of their age.

Ruby Tuesday’s manager said the employee, a three-year employee, was terminated that day. The manager also said the staff has been retrained on the alcohol ordinance since this incident took place.

During the probation, the restaurant will still be allowed to serve alcohol. However, any further violation will lead to the alcohol license being revoked.

If you are 19 and can fight in a war you should be able to buy alcohol.
